The previously planned regular meeting of the Woodbridge Township Board of Education scheduled to be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Ross Street School #11, 110 Ross Street, Woodbridge, NJ. Formal Action will be taken.
Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order lifting capacity limits on the number of people who may attend Board Meetings; this Board Meeting will not be live-streamed, nor will email comments be accepted.

Highlights from the July 15th Board Meeting:
• Amber and Matt Jarret acknowledged for generously designing and building desks for students during the COVID-19 pandemic
• 2019-2020 Self-Assessment for Determining Grades Report approved
• Nursing Plan for the 2021-2022 approved
• PSAT/NMSQT and SAT program agreement between College Board & WTSD approved
• Contracts awarded to Vista Higher Learning, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, & Savvas Learning
• Renewal of the Shared Services Agreements between WTSD & The Township of Woodbridge for a part-time grant writer; and for the maintenance of Board facilities
• Approval of the Participation Agreement between WTSD & Genesis Educational Services
• Approval of the agreement between the WTSD & the YMCA of Metuchen/Woodbridge for conducting before and after care programs for 2021-2022
• 17 athletes from CHS for their outstanding performances in various 2021 Spring Sports

The 2019-2020 HIB District and School Grade Report as a result of the School Self-Assessment for Determining Grades under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights can be found here https://5il.co/uy18
The grade is a raw score of data and the sum of the ratings for all indicators within each core element on the School Self-Assessment.
The school district’s score is 73 which is an average of the total scores of all the schools in the district.

Highlights from the June 30, 2021 Board Meeting:
• WHS senior, B. Gnapp, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
• B. Wolferman reappointed as Qualified Purchasing Agent for 21-22
• Approval of the license subscription renewals to Rethink, Learning A-Z, Writing City, Benchmark Universe, Vocabulary AZ.
• Contracts awarded to Savvas Learning, Cengage Learning, MPS, Collins Education, Advanced Assessment, Nystrom Education, Naomi Isaac-Simpson Educational Consulting, and NGSS.
• Approval of the submission of funding application for the Every Student Succeeds Acts Consolidated Grant in the amount of $3,080,375 for 2021-22.
• Approval of the leasing of 97 copiers with Ricoh in the amount of $16,870 monthly for 2021-22.
• Bids awarded for asphalt paving, electrical supplies, HVAC system maintenance & repairs, and plumbing supplies.
• Approval of the removal & disposal of additional damaged VAT/mastic & leveling compound from WHS
• Approval of the Comprehensive Equity Plan Annual Statement of Assurance
• Twenty JFK athletes gained individual honors for outstanding performances in various 2021 winter and 2021 spring sports seasons
• JFK athlete, M. Hein, received the 2020-21 Scholar Athlete Award from the NJSIAA

All Woodbridge Township Schools will be full remote on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, to accommodate Primary Voting.

All Woodbridge Township schools will be closed beginning Friday, May 28, 2021, through and including Tuesday, June 1.
All schools are scheduled to re-open on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

• Board President, Marie Anderson, and Board Member, Daniel Harris, achieved the status of Certificated Board Member by the NJSBA.
• 168 district High School students inducted into the National Honor Society.
• 40 district High School students received the Seal of Biliteracy from the NJ Dept. of Education.
• 256 district Middle School students inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.
• 7 district Middle School students received the National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award Scholarship sponsored by NASSP and NJHS.
• Andrew Ferreira achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
• Thalia Santiago-Ortiz selected as the winner in the 2021 Mother’s Day Contest sponsored by the Corner Newspaper.
• 11 district Middle School students participated in the Junior Youth in Government Day.
• Submission of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 2006 Grant in the amount of $80,451.00

• Coach Sandra Chiera selected as the Greater Middlesex White Division Coach of the Year in Girls Basketball for the Winter of 2021.
• Coach Joseph Rotella selected as the Greater Middlesex Conference Coach of the Year in Ice Hockey for the Winter of 2021.
• The Senior Olympics Organization of NJ will hold their annual event on 9/10, 9/11 and 9/12 at WHS and WMS.

Families from Woodbridge Township School District's Title I schools recently participated in a virtual Math Family Workshop. A committee of teachers created tutorial videos to enable families to participate at their leisure.
