Reminder to all 7th and 8th graders interested in trying out for basketball and bowling, physicals are due NO LATER than tomorrow Thursday Oct 5th. No physical, no tryout
The IMS 4 v 4 Soccer Tournament will be held on Thursday, October 12, so grab four friends to make a team. Permission slips and a roster can be found in the cafeteria. Turn in all paperwork and $10 to Mrs. Neilson or the main office by Tuesday, October 10th. Only the first eight teams who submit their fee and information will make it into the tournament.
Esports practice will be held after school tomorrow, in room 505. Attendance is mandatory for all primaries and alternates, and optional for all other members.
The IMS Honor Society is hosting a food drive this week. Please donate items like boxes of pasta or jars of tomato sauce. Thank you for your donations.
Attention all students: The IMS Math Club is back! The club's purpose is to improve math facts and number sense through games and competitions. The club meets after school on Wednesdays in room 516. Interested in joining? See Mr. Romano for a permission slip.
Today’s Week of Respect theme is “Respect for your Environment.” Respecting your environment means being conscious of how we use resources and energy so we can protect the earth; however, it also means paying attention to your environment at school. Did you know IMS is home to a beautiful perennial butterfly garden? If that sounds nice, maybe joining the IMS Garden Club is for you. There is a Garden Club interest meeting Thursday 10/5 after school in room 117.
Are you interested in joining the school newspaper? The Panther Press is holding an interest meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, after school in room 123.

The Lady Panthers lost a tight game to FMS yesterday 8-6. Bella Bernal pitched 3 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 9. Stella Parry earned the Offensive game ball with a hit and a walk and Giselle Ortiz and Sophia Wegg each had RBIs. Celeste Pringle made a terrific catch in left to keep the game close in the 3rd inning.

Beginning on Monday- The IMS Honor Society is hosting a food drive for our local food pantry. Please bring in boxes of pancake mix and pasta or cans of soup and vegetables. Hand in the non-perishable food items to your homeroom teacher and the Honor Society students will come around to collect the donations.

Study Hall Starts on Monday, Oct 2nd in room 607 . You must bring your lunch if participating. You can sign up in your grade level google classroom . The first 15 students will be eligible for study hall. You must sign up the day before.
Reminder: Money will not be collected for the Block Party until Friday. Please do not turn money in to your homeroom teacher.
Select Choir will rehearse after school today in Room 604. If you auditioned by video, do not come to this rehearsal. You will find out later this week if you made it.
The Lady Panthers Softball team opened their season on Friday against Avenel Middle. They played an outstanding game falling 10-9 in the bottom of the last inning. 7th grader Dhurti Patel turned a double play earning her the team’s defensive game ball. 7th grader Analise Brown earned the team’s offensive ball by getting 2 hits, including a double and scoring 3 times. 8th graders Jazlin Ortiz and Jaroly Alibrando both had a positive impact for the team.

Today is National Grandma Moses Day.
