The DEI Club interest meeting scheduled for today has been rescheduled to Tuesday, October 24th. All grades are invited to attend. You must turn in a permission slip if interested. Permission slips are found on your grade level’s Google Classroom, under Classwork or in the Guidance Office.

Today we celebrate National Train Your Brain Day.
Congratulations to this year’s winners of the IMS 4 V4 soccer tournament. For a second year in a row, Motivation Nation episode two has won the title. Marmik Luhar, Prakhar Maheshwari, Daniel Tadrous, Charan Godeka and Abhay Shinde narrowly defeated the Panthers in the championship round 1-0. Great job to all teams! Thank you to all participants and everyone that helped out to make this event such a great success.
Attention all band students, please don’t forget the first 6th grade full band rehearsal is Monday at 7:20 am. Please be sure to pick up music by the band room before the rehearsal. All 6th grade students enrolled in band in their schedule just attend. Attendance will be taken.

Today we celebrate World Mental Health Day.
A huge thank you to all the students who participated in the IMS Honor Society Food Drive. We collected 50 bags of food to help our community. Thank you for your generosity.
Attention all band students, a reminder that morning rehearsals will begin next week on Monday for six grade, and next week on Thursday for advance band. All rehearsals begin at 7:20 am. Please be sure to pick up Music located outside of the band room.
Study hall will now be available during lunches from Mondays-Thursdays in room 607. You must sign up and bring your lunch. Details and sign up form can be found on your grade level’s Google Classroom.

The IMS 4 v 4 Soccer Tournament will be held on Thursday, October 12, so grab four friends to make a team. Permission slips and a roster can be found in the cafeteria. Turn in all paperwork and $10 to Mrs. Neilson or the main office by Tuesday, October 10th. Only the first eight teams who submit their fee and information will make it into the tournament.

Please be sure to start practicing as we begin morning rehearsals the week of October 16th! This applies to all students who have band in their schedule.

The Lady Panthers lost a tight game to FMS yesterday 8-6. Bella Bernal pitched 3 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 9. Stella Parry earned the Offensive game ball with a hit and a walk and Giselle Ortiz and Sophia Wegg each had RBIs. Celeste Pringle made a terrific catch in left to keep the game close in the 3rd inning.

The Lady Panthers Softball team opened their season on Friday against Avenel Middle. They played an outstanding game falling 10-9 in the bottom of the last inning. 7th grader Dhurti Patel turned a double play earning her the team’s defensive game ball. 7th grader Analise Brown earned the team’s offensive ball by getting 2 hits, including a double and scoring 3 times. 8th graders Jazlin Ortiz and Jaroly Alibrando both had a positive impact for the team.

On Tuesday, October 3rd, an Arts High School representative will be coming to talk to any student who is interested in learning more about their program. The program is geared to students who are interested in working with a professional in the visual, literary, and performing arts and wants to improve in their chosen art form. If you are interested in meeting with the representative, please complete the form found on your grade level’s Google Classroom.

Attention 7th and 8th graders. Iselin Middle School’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team needs you. We are looking to find students who are interested in continuing to make Iselin Middle School a welcoming place for all students. Interested students will participate in various events throughout the school year related to DEI. We will be accepting interested 6th graders in the near future. If you are interested, applications are found on your grade level’s Google Classroom. Please sign up by this weekend to be able to participate in the first event.
