Today we celebrate National Jukebox Day.
Today’s featured Native American person is Sacheen Littlefeather. She is a Native American activist and actress. She was asked to accept an Academy Award on behalf of a VERY famous actor but denied the award because she was not happy with the way Native Americans were portrayed in the media. She stood up for what she believed in even though there were people who didn’t agree.
The boys basketball team beat Woodbridge 46-44 yesterday. The team was led by top scorers Veer Patel and Raheem Shah. Their next game will be on Monday at AMS.
The Scholastic Book Fair will take place in Room 117 on December 3, 4, and 5. There will be items ranging in price from $3 to $20. The book fair is CASH only.

Today’s featured Native American person is Tony Duncan. He is a 5x World Hoop Dancing Champion who started Hoop Dancing when he was five years old. He learned how to Hoop Dance from his father and has now started teaching his son. He is also a Native American flutist.

Today’s featured Native American person is Maria Martinez. She is a Native American Pottery maker who wanted to continue the tradition of pottery making in her culture. She made the pottery and her husband painted the designs. She also spent time teaching other women how to make pottery.

Attention ALL students - In the Girl’s bathrooms, there are new dispensers for emergency purposes. DO NOT take these items “just in case”. ONLY take one if needed while in the restroom. To clarify, in one day, more than 100 items were taken, emptying 2 of our 3 dispensers. We have NEVER needed this many when students had to come to the nurse for their needs. Thank you.
