It's that time of year..........JUNE!! Thankful for all you have done to make this year possible!!!
Just a few Important dates to remember:
No School on the following dates: Friday May 27th, Monday May31st and Tuesday June 1st
June 2nd- Band and Chorus concert@ 6:00pm ( 2 tix available per student) outside
June 4th- 1st Grade Reading Celebration@ 11:30am ( 2 tix available per student) outside
June 8th- Election Day ( as of now it's a synchronous day from home) No one is in the building.
June 9th- 5th Grade Luncheon 10-12pm
June 14th- Student Material DROP OFF for the Remote Students. ( text books, chromebooks, supplies given out to borrow etc)
Your teacher will communicate with you what items they expect to come back to school.

June 15th- Kindergarten Graduation@ 11:30am ( 2 tix available per student) outside

** Student's class assignments for next school year will be available on genesis the last week of August. At that time you will receive an email to look on genesis to see what teacher and room # your child will be in for the 21-22 school year. Along with the class assignments will be an updated school information letter describing any important school information needed.
** If you have a younger child coming to kindergarten next school year please make sure you register them asap. You can use the link below.

*** Summer programs- There will be a summer bridge on line program the students will have access to for practice. Also, our PTO has sponsored us and bought "Summer Bridge" practice work books for each child. Those books will go home with your child the last week of school with a note attached explaining everything.

Quarantines
*Students Traveling to states other than DE, PA, NY, CT for more than 24 hours will require a10 day quarantine.
* If the traveler/student has a negative COVID test after travel, the quarantine is reduced to 7 days; If the student gets tested, they can return after 7 days if the test is negative;
*If the traveler/student chooses not to get a Covid Test after travel, they will have to quarantine 10 days.

Material Pick Up dates for Fully Remote Students: Please enter Door #2 and make sure you follow the social distance regulations. Don't forget to wear a mask!
Monday March 8th- 1:30-2:30 1st Grade and Ms. Dellaluna's class
Tuesday March 9th- 1:30-2:30 3rd & 4th grade and 2:30-3:30 5th grade
Wednesday March 10th- Our PBSIS is sponsoring a school wide "Dance Party". We are celebrating their hard work and good behavior. Students should neon colors, they will receive a "glow necklace" to wear during the dance party. Please tell them to turn out the lights and pull down the blinds. Teachers will direct all students to drop everything and dance at 10:15am.
*Please remember if you are traveling out of the state for spring break or any time you need to notify the school and your child will have to quarantine for 14 days.
As of April 12th we will begin Phase 3 of Hybrid. Wednesdays will be put into the rotation of the week for all hybrid students. For example: Week #1 Group A will go to in person Mon,Tues, Wed and the following week Group B will go into school Wed. Thurs and Friday. More details to follow at a later date.

Today is Monday March 1st and we welcome back our Hybrid students Group A. Phase 2 is underway. Thank you to our wonderful parents and staff for making this possible.
Starting on March 1st-Group A-Monday and Tuesday (8:45am-1:10pm) instruction from school. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday-Remote instruction from home.
Starting on March 4th- Group B-Thursday and Friday (8:45am-1:10pm) instruction from school. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday-Remote instruction from home.
** All students coming into school for instruction must have the Covid 19 attestation form filled out and submitted on genesis! This form must be filled out ONLY on the days they come into the school. If your child is home you DO NOT have to fill out the form.
*There are no changes in transportation pickups and/or drop offs - it will be the same as it

This week’s kindness challenge is the Happy Heart Challenge: Make a heart from any object and tape it to a street-facing window to send your love out to the world. Encourage all your friends to do the same. Then, in a few days, take a family walk (keeping 6 feet distance from others!) to search for other hearts on houses. Watch the love grow!

Important Information for In person Students:
We are going to need your assistance, since we lent out all our chromebooks to our students to use at home we will need the students to bring them back and forth to school. On the day that your child is coming to school in person, please have him/her bring their device (chromebook) with them. The students will be using the devices for their computer class as well as with their classroom teacher. Ms. Bauer will be discussing with them the importance of being careful with the device as well as proper safety when travelling to and from school. If they have a case for the device, please have them use it. If they do not have a case, please make sure they have it in a safe place when bringing it to school. School News:
Our Student Council has implemented "Fabulous Fridays in February" Today our students will be working on writing letters to elders. These letters will be collected by their teachers in March and we will mail them to the "Love for Elders Organization". Classroom teachers will give instructions out to their students today.
Read Across America will be celebrated the week of March 1st. A Spirit Days schedule will be sent out next week.
March is "Women's History Month" our students will recognize and celebrate with activities during the month of March.
Don't forget Next Wednesday Feb. 24th is an Asynchronous Day for our students and staff. All assignments for the day will be posted on the teachers google classroom. There will be NO LIVE INSTRUCTION.

Mystery Reader- Our PTO is till having Mystery Readers Virtually for our students. It's a nice way for our students to stay safe and see their friends and teachers. Our next Mystery Reader is on Tuesday Feb.23rd. Keep a look out for an email with a zoom link.

We are so excited to have Author "Carmen Rubin" read to our students on Feb. 12th for BLACK HISTORY MONTH.
She is an acclaimed and beloved author of picture books, interactive ebooks, apps, and animated children's programming. Her best-known work, Ashti Meets Birdman Al has lyrically warmed the hearts of many children and their families.
