Today we celebrate National Go Fishing Day.
Tomorrow Woodbridge Township School District recognizes Juneteenth, a day that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. It marks June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved people in Texas were told they were free—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021. Juneteenth reminds us of the importance of freedom, equality, and continuing to learn from our history.
Students who are singing in the 8th Grade Promotion Choir, there is NO rehearsal on Friday morning when we come back. However, we will rehearse on Monday morning and Tuesday morning at 7:30 am in room 604.

To all students who are singing in the 8th Grade Promotion Choir: there is NO rehearsal on Friday this week. Instead, we will have two rehearsals next week: Monday, June 23rd and Tuesday, June 24th at 7:30 am in room 604. Please review Star Spangled Banner rehearsal tracks in the meantime.

*Did you forget to bring in your money for Field Frenzy? Even though the pre-sale is over, it’s not too late to join the fun! Bring your permission slip and $10 to your period 1 teacher on Monday. See the IMS website for more information and to print your permission slips.
*Just a reminder to to those attending Field Frenzy on Tuesday: if you want to participate in the tye die station, please bring something (like a shirt) to tye dye. If you want to participate in the board game station, there will be some games provided, but feel free to bring your own!

Today we celebrate National Peanut Butter Cookie Day.

Congratulations to our 8th grade students who participated in the district’s CJCEE project! Iselin Middle and Colonia High School earned 1st place for the best student project out of other school districts in Central Jersey!
In Science Fair News, congratulations to 7th grader Tanish Ankulkar, who placed 2nd in the Behavioral Science division and won the Best Statistical Analysis award. 8th graders Kriday Patel and Ayush Bommu earned the Most Innovative Use of Technology award and Hibba Khan and Kavyal Gulati, placed 3rd in the Environmental Science division.

Today we celebrate National Hug Your Cat Day.
Great job by the IMS boys and girls cross country team in yesterday’s meet of champions. Both teams finished in 2nd place. Individually, Abhay Shinde took the top spot overall for the boys. On the girls side, Tiara Goodridge was 2nd while Dhruti Patel was 3rd, Gabby Goodridge was 8th and Aishmin Kaur was 9th place overall.

Congratulations to Yash Parikh and Kena Darji, for placing 3rd and Samruddhi Patil and Lara Patel, for placing 2nd in the Physical Science and Chemistry division at the SETS Science Fair. Both groups qualified in the top 10% and will move onto the next level.
