Week 1 is complete! We had a great first four days of school. The students and staff are so excited to be back together. Don't forget next week our open house is on Tuesday, September 14, starting at 5:30. Parents can enter through the front door and report directly to their child's classroom. Remember only two parents per student, mask are mandatory, and no children please.

Welcome back Woodbine students! It seems like forever since we had classrooms full of excited young learners. It was my pleasure today to walk around to each class and introduce myself. The students were very excited and happy to be back. We had a great first day. A few reminders:
From now on we will have 2 school spirit days--on the first Thursday of the month and on the 23rd of every month. Our first school spirit day is this Thursday, September 9. Please wear your blue and white Woodbine Rocket clothes.
Next Tuesday evening, September 14, is our open house. We will let you know the exact schedule by the end of this week, but please save the date.
Our students in grades 1-5 will be taking a pre-assessment on LinkIt over the next few weeks. They will take the assessment during school hours and we will use this information from the assessment to help guide instruction.
Unfortunately our buses were a little late leaving school today. During the first few weeks of school we will be extra cautious when assigning students to buses at dismissal, so expect delays. We all feel that this abundance of caution will prevent any child from getting lost on the way home. Our times will improve quickly over the next few days.
As always, if you have any questions please call my office at 732 602 8523.
Thank you.

Hello Woodbine Ave Elementary School Community:
This is my first post as your new principal. Like all of you, I am so excited for our return to "normal" school on September 7. Many of our teachers have already done a fantastic job preparing their classrooms for students. They are as eager as you are!
We will be returning to our old school schedule, so make sure you plan to arrive at school by 8:55 am but not before 8:45 am. If you take a bus, your specific information will be sent out next week.
Also remember that as per the Governor's directive, all students and staff will be required to wear masks while in school and while riding the bus.
Many of you have already asked about "virtual" instruction this year. Also in the Governor's directives, there is no virtual option this year; all instruction will be in-person.
Student schedules will be available in Genesis on Monday.
I will send our more information soon, but for now if you have any questions please call my office at 732 602 8523. My summer vacation is over and I am back to work full time.
Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation and see you soon!
