Good Evening Penn. Ave. Families,
It was an eventful week here at Penn. Ave. It was wonderful seeing so many parents and guardians in the building to meet with our teachers for Parent-Teacher Conferences. We truly value the support that you show our school community. To celebrate Science Education Week, our students participated in a variety of activities, including Hour of Code, Kodable, and Code Monkey to learn more about coding and the field of Computer Science. Our students had a great time shopping for friends and family at our Holiday Shop this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Today, our 3rd Graders watched a live virtual production of Aesops Fables by Circle in a Square Theatre School, which aligns with their Language Arts curriculum. They loved it!
Next week, our Choir will be performing at Woodbridge Center Mall on Wednesday, 12/14 at 5:00pm, so come on out for some holiday cheer.
Have a great weekend!
Please see attached for info regarding the Trunk or Treat event on 10.28 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Good Evening Penn. Ave Families,
We had a great final week of September here at Penn. Ave. Our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month continued throughout the week with various activities throughout the building. Our 4th and 5th Graders participated in the Start Strong assessment on Monday, and the data from this test will be used to guide our teachers' instruction to meet our students' learning needs. We had our School Spirit Day on Tuesday, and it was so wonderful seeing so much orange and black.
For Next Week...
Next week we will simultaneously celebrate the Week of Respect and Week of Inclusion. To recognize both, we will do a Spirit Week! Below are the themes for each day:
Monday – WEAR YELLOW. Students will wear yellow to let their good character shine.
Tuesday – WEAR WORKOUT CLOTHES. Students will wear workout clothes because showing respect is no sweat.
Wednesday* – WEAR YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM. Students will team up against bullying.
Thursday* – DRESS IN A UNIQUE WAY. Students will dress uniquely to show that our differences make us unique.
Friday – WEAR YOUR PENN. AVE. COLORS. Students will show Penn. Ave. Pride by wearing spirit wear or black/orange.
Please pay attention to your child’s picture day schedule when choosing to participate in spirit days.
Our Picture Days will be on Wednesday 10/5 (Grades K-2) and Thursday (Grades 3-5).
Our first PTO meeting will be Wednesday, 10/5 at 6:00pm in the All-Purpose Room.
The Lions Color Run has been postponed to Saturday, October 15, from 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Have a wonderful weekend.
