Welcome to Oak Ridge Heights, #21.
It would be our delight if the new student and parents/guardians only would join us for Kindergarten Orientation on August 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., in our All Purpose Room. We ask that only the parents/guardians and the student come to the Orientation.
As we slowly return to our regular routine, please keep in mind we have to follow state and local guidelines. Everyone is expected to wear a mask and follow all social distancing practices on school grounds. Additionally, anytime that you enter our building you must provide proper photo identification.
For your convenience, we are enclosing a suggested supply list for your Kindergartener.

Dear Parents/Guardians:
I hope this letter finds everyone healthy and enjoying the spring weather. A few reminder for the upcoming days. Due to our schools being used as polling locations, for safety reasons, Primary Election Day, June 8, 2021 will be a synchronous remote instruction day. All students will be remote with live instruction.
All students, remote and in-person, can participate in our end of the year activities. If you are remote student and will be attending any of our end of the year activities, kindly email your teacher so they can prepare for your arrival. All students will need to complete the daily attestation form to participate in the activity. Student arrival and pick-up times are the same, arrival at the classroom door at 8:35 and pick-up at 1:10. Any parents wishing to pick their child up early will have to report to the main office and sign the student out for the remainder of the day.
Our PTO will be providing an Ice Cream and Story Time for each class with the assistance of the class parents. In order to maintain social distance requirements, Ice Cream and Story Times will be held on June 16 and June 17. Story Time will start at 9:00 and end at 9:45. All students participating should arrive to school at the regular start time, 8:35. Please see the schedule below for the date of your child’s Story Time.

Please do not put our students at risk for your convenience.

The District is coordinating closely with public health officials and following CDC, state, and local health department guidance in order to assure the health and safety of our community.
Cleaning and disinfecting of all exposed areas has been completed. The school is also taking precautions to prevent the introduction and spread of viruses and other germs and is cleaning frequently touched surfaces daily. The status of this situation is fluid, and we are monitoring it closely.
We understand the level of concern regarding COVID-19. We encourage parents and students to continue following the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention promoted safeguards, such as:
• Staying home when you are sick;
• Washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds;
• Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues;
• Limiting close contact with people who are sick and not sharing food, drinks and utensils;

Dear 5th Grade Parents,
Meningococcal and Tdap vaccines are required for all entering 6th graders who are 11 years of age or older. If entering or in 6th grade and under age 11, students must receive the vaccines within 2 weeks of their 11th birthday.
Attached to this email is a letter from the Superintendent regarding the required vaccines and a form for your child’s doctor to fill out and return to school.
If your child has already had these vaccines or gets them prior to the end of the school year, please either email them to me or send them in to school. If your child gets the vaccines after school ends, please forward the documents to the school nurse at the middle school.

I hope this letter finds everyone safe and healthy. Due to the update in classroom social distancing from 6ft. to 3ft, with masks, we will have a few changes to our reopening after Spring Recess.
On April 12, 2021, Oak Ridge Heights will only have two Cohort Groups. In-person hybrid and Group C remote. ALL IN-PERSON STUDENTS WILL ATTEND SCHOOL 5 DAYS A WEEK. Any students who would like to switch from Group C to in-person will need to contact the school to switch groups no later than 11:00 AM on April 2, 2021 to return to in-person instruction starting on April 12, 2021.
We are giving you an extra day to request the switch as many staff members throughout the district DO NOT have access to email. Therefore, if you have not done so, please CALL the main office to request to switch your child from remote to in-person instruction.
