Colonia Middle School Families,

As we reach the end of Marking Period 2 & Semester 1, I would like to acknowledge our students for their hard work and dedication to Colonia Middle School. I would like to thank our families for their continued support of our school. Here are a few updates & reminders for your review:

1) The CMS Community Service Club is sponsoring the "Have a Heart" Food Drive to help fill the Woodbridge Township food pantries. Please support this important cause by donating non-perishable food items. During the week of February 2nd - February 6th, we are holding a theme week, with chances for students to earn extra Patriot Points: 5 points for every item donated and 10 points for those that fit the theme of the day! 2) Beginning on Friday, February 13, 2026, Colonia Middle School will be piloting "Chromebook Free Fridays". The goal is to reduce digital dependency and screen fatigue while boosting interpersonal interaction in the classroom. Students are encouraged to leave their school-issued Chromebooks at home on Fridays. Should they bring them to school, they should be left in their locker for the day.

3) Report cards will be available in Genesis Parent Access at 8:00 AM on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Due to the weather conditions and ongoing clean-up, all Woodbridge Township schools will follow the two hour delayed opening schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. High schools will begin at 9:40 a.m. Middle schools will begin at 10:15 a.m. Grades K through 5 will begin at 10:55 a.m. The morning Preschool will begin at 10:55 a.m., and the afternoon Preschool will begin at 12:55 p.m. As a reminder, all bus pick-ups will be delayed two hours as well.

On behalf of our entire staff, we would like to wish our families a safe and enjoyable Fall Break. The students have had an outstanding first two months and we hope they enjoy their time off. School resumes on Monday, November 10, 2025. Our students are having a great month of October with our PBIS Kickoff and Week of Respect & Inclusion.  Our school community continues to work hard and show outstanding school spirit.

8th grade CMS families, Due to the forecast of excessive heat, our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held inside our air conditioned gym, on Tuesday, 6/24/25 at 10:30 AM. 8th grade students will need to arrive at school by 9:30 AM, in preparation for the ceremony. Guests can begin entering Door #11 at 9:45 AM. Guest seating will be provided inside of the gym. Each student will receive two tickets for family members to attend the ceremony. These tickets will be given to students to take home on Monday, 6/23/25. Unfortunately, there will only be two tickets issued per family due to capacity limitations and the fire code. Tickets must be presented at the door to gain entry. Immediately following the ceremony, parents may take their child home. Lastly, air horns, noisemakers, or balloons are not permitted inside the gym. We are extremely proud of our 8th grade students and look forward to celebrating with our families! Thank You, Joseph A. All schools and offices in Woodbridge Township School District will be closed starting Monday, June 9, 2025, through and including the Primary Election on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

CMS Families, Next week there will be a special appearance by the ice cream truck to provide a free item to all students.  This is a reward for their hard work during NJSLA testing.  Thank you to our PTO for providing this. All schools & offices in the Woodbridge Township School District will be closed starting Friday, 5/23, through and including, Tuesday, 5/27, for Memorial Day, and extended due to unused inclement weather days. Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Wednesday, 5/28.

Colonia Middle School 8th Grade Families, We are so proud of the accomplishments of this 8th grade class. As we near the start of Spring, I would like to provide our 8th grade families with an update on our scheduled events for the end of the year: Tuesday, June 17th – 8th Grade Trip to Urban Air, followed by lunch at Dave & Buster’s REMINDER – Our PTO has purchased a Class of 2025 tee shirt for ALL 8th grade students (Permission slip coming soon) Wednesday, June 18th – 8th Grade Dance at the Sapphire Grand (Details will be provided in the coming weeks) Thursday, June 19th – School Closed for Juneteenth Day Friday, June 20th – 8th Grade Breakfast & Yearbook Distribution REMINDER – Our PTO has purchased a yearbook for ALL 8th grade students (Promotion practice will take place in the afternoon) Monday, June 23rd – 8th Grade Promotion Practice All Day Tuesday, June 24th – 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony at 10:30 AM (Details will be provided in the coming weeks) Wednesday, June 25th – Last Day of School Thank you for your continued support.
