AMS Parents & Guardians,
Avenel Middle School will be hosting a Virtual Mid-Year Parent Night on Wednesday, February 10th, from 6:30-7:45 PM. We will be following the schedule below:
Block 1 - (6:30-6:45 PM)
Block 2 - (6:50-7:05 PM)
Block 3 - (7:10-7:25 PM)
Block 4 - (7:30-7:45 PM)
Parents/guardians should join the Office Hours Google Meet/Zoom for your child's teacher(s) at the designated time. Your children will be very helpful in guiding you through this process. Feel free to email your child's teacher or guidance counselor if you need assistance. Teachers will be providing an overview of their course, along with updates and expectations. Any requests for an individual conference should be scheduled through our guidance department.

AMS Families,
1.) Semester 1, Marking Period 2, and E4 ends tomorrow Friday, January 29th.
2.) Semester 2, Marking Period 3, and E5 begins on Monday, February 1st.
3.) Marking Period 2 Report Cards will be available in Genesis after 8:00 AM on Thursday, February 4th.
4.) All students are required to join any new classes for the Spring Semester prior to Monday. All Google Classroom Codes have been updated in Genesis and appear on the student schedules.
5.) If any AMS student tests positive for COVID-19, it must be reported to our school nurse:

6.) We continue to prepare for our return to hybrid on Monday, March 1st.
7.) Our AMS Have-A-Heart Food Drive continues until Friday, February 12th. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off outside Door #1 (Main Doors) at AMS on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays from 8:30 AM-1:30 PM.
8.) Finally, it is with a heavy heart that I must share the sad news that our former principal, Gary Kuzniak, passed away yesterday.

As some of you may know, a portion of our township is experiencing power outages. PSE&G is currently working on it and let us know power might come and go throughout the day. Our teachers are aware and will post attendance accordingly.
Many of our teachers live in town so their power could be out. Please be patient if online instruction poses any challenges today.
