End of Year

Kennedy Park Families:

As we count down the days, we at Kennedy Park, first off want to say “Thank You” to all of our parents and family members who have been so very understanding, patient, and cooperative during this very unusual school year!

We want to wish all of our Preschool and Kindergarten Stepping up students the best of luck going into kindergarten and first grade! We wish you much success and happiness as you continue on your way (and a happy, healthy summer too)! Students who will be continuing at Kennedy Park for the 2021-2022 school year, we wish you all a happy, safe, and healthy summer!

Please be reminded that students who will be moving onto kindergarten or first grade will attend his/her home school (neighborhood) school. No registration is needed! All student information will automatically be transferred in the Genesis system beginning July 1, 2021.

If your child is in a specialized program (special education, ESL), he/she may not be attending his/her home (neighborhood) school due to the program availability within the school district. You will receive notification from his/her next school from the case manager or supervisor(s).

The instructional days will be a little different within the next 5 days. Teachers and staff will not be conducting office hours starting Monday, June 14 – Friday, June 18. This includes small group, direct instruction, etc. Classes will end at 1:15pm for those students on the 8:45am schedule, and 2:15pm for those students on the 9:45am schedule. Teachers will begin winding down lessons, collecting materials, and just enjoying spending these last few days with the students playing games, reading stories, and having fun. Please make sure to follow the new schedule posted in the virtual platform(s) by your classroom teacher.

*School devices (iPads, laptops, hot spots, etc.) should be returned back to school no later than June 25. If borrowed technology (iPad, laptops, hot spot) is not returned you will be responsible to for the cost of the device.

*The last day of school online or in-person is Friday, June 18, 2021. On Friday, June 18 only 8:45am classes will be running in-person; 9:45am classes (students) will work remotely due to scheduling.

All students entering into grade 1 should have received an email regarding Summer Bridge: Imagine Learning assessment and program to use over the summer. If you should have any questions regarding this program you can reach out to your classroom teacher and/or the main office.
