Woodbridge Township School District Kindergarten Registration 2023 - 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Registration for the 2024-2025 full-day kindergarten will begin on February 20, 2024. Registration is done on a year-long rolling basis in the Woodbridge Township School District. In order to facilitate the volume of students registering to our 15 community based Elementary Schools, the WTSD has designated the Kennedy Park School #24 building as the Kindergarten overflow building. This building ensures that we are able to meet with the NJDOE building regulations when assigning our Kindergarten Students a Designated Home School. Assignments to our 15 community based Elementary Schools will be done using the following assignment priorities:
1) Date of Complete Registration
2) Having siblings in Grades 1-5 in the Community Based Elementary School
3) Transportation Proximity to the School Building (Walkers vs. Bussed Students)
4) Special Programs or Services that your child may be eligible to receive.
In addition to these assignment priorities, each year many parents request special permission to attend an elementary school other than the community based building designated as their home school based upon a host of reasons. If a family chooses to make this Special Permission request, please keep in mind that submitting a request in and of itself is not a guarantee that it will be granted. The priority of Kindergarten Registration will be based upon those parameters listed above. The office of the Superintendent will not render any decisions on any Special Requests prior to July 1st, 2024.
It is important to understand that even with a priority registration system, some students may be assigned to the Kennedy Park School #24 having met the assignment priorities. Therefore, early registration is strongly encouraged. Date of the registration will be the criteria used when all other priorities are equal. Parents with students currently attending a Woodbridge Township
Elementary School are requested to register their Kindergarten child as soon as possible.
All families who register their Kindergarten child prior to May 31 will be notified of their child’s
placement no later than June 28th, 2024. Again, while there is no guarantee that your child will be assigned to their designated home school, early registration greatly increases the likelihood they will attend their community based building.
