Penn Ave. #27 Mission Statment
Pennsylvania Avenue School #27 works to engage the entire school community by creating an environment that focuses on positive decision making, encouraging grit and determination, and understanding the importance and value of a solid academic foundation. We strive to develop learners who understand the importance of responsible citizenship and are prepared to make a positive contribution to their community.
Our learning community consists of approximately 325 students who are in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. All of our 35 staff members are committed to providing students with meaningful learning experiences on a daily basis.
Students engage in a curriculum that is aligned with the Core Curriculum Content standards and New Jersey Content standards. Our “core” curriculum consists of Health and Wellness, Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. Students also receive instruction in Art, Music, Physical Education, and Technology.
Pennsylvania Avenue School #27 has a number of students who participate in the Special Needs program, ASI program, and the ESL/Bilingual Spanish program.
We also have a thriving Parent Teacher Organization who works collaboratively with staff members to enhance our students’ educational experience. The PTO works diligently to raise funds for class trips, assemblies, and other student needs that go beyond the school’s budget.
