    5.  In honor of Marching being Women's History Month here is a fact. The Nieteenth Amendment states: “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” Congress passed the amendment in June 1919. The NAWSA and NWP suffragists lobbied local and state representatives to ensure its subsequent ratification by the states.
After the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment on August 18, 1920, female activists continued to use politics to reform society. NAWSA became the League of Women Voters. In 1923, the NWP proposed the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to ban discrimination based on sex. The League of Women Voters and efforts to pass the ERA continue today.

    5.  In honor of March being Women's History Month here is a bio
Deborah Sampson was born on December 17, 1760 in Massachusetts. In 1782, while the American Revolution raged on Deborah disguised herself as man so she could fight for the Continental Army. Deborah fought for two years keeping her real identity hidden until she was injured. She had a gash in her forehead from a sword and a bullet in her thigh. Deborah did not want to be found out so she removed the bullet herself. Her injuries eventually led to her to seek medical attention where it was found she was a woman. Deborah received a honorable discharge and became a hero of the American Revolution. She was the only woman to earn a full military pension for participation in the Revolutionary army.
