Full year class (A or B day)
Concert Band Students come to class every other day as part of an A/B schedule.
Concert Band will perform at the following events:
Winter Concert- December 5th 6:30. Band and Chorus.
Spring Concert- April 29th, 6:30
Graduation June 18th.
Please clear your schedules as these performances are required as part of the Concert Band grade.
FALL SEMESTER SYLLABUS
September- Sightreading, 14 Weeks to a Better Band, Warm Ups
October- Shalom, Santa's Wild Ride
November- Frozen Parade Sequence, Concert Prep
December- All Concert music, Concert Reflection paper, sightreading, 6 major scales.
Band students receive weekly participation/ effort grades based on class participation and practice time. Please sign out your folder to practice at least once a week. All students must practice with a metronome.
MAJOR ASSESSMENT GRADES
Playing tests, Concerts, Performances, Written Tests.
Band students receive Major assessment grades. These consist of at performance tests on music from class, special assignments such as scales, and any Band performances.Some of these performances are done in class, some are outside of class, and some must be sent to the teacher. It is up to the student to figure out how to record their performance. They can use cell phone, computer or any other device. If a student cannot arrange to record themselves at home, there is a computer with a microphone available in the band room.

MINOR ASSESSMENT GRADES
Weekly attitude/ participation grade, Classroom performances, Written work.
