    Structured Learning Experience (SLE)

    SLE Program Overview:

    Colonia High School will be unveiling a Structured Learning Experience (SLE) program beginning in the 2019-2020 school year.

    The program is designed to target students (Seniors) who:

    • currently do not plan on pursuing a 4 year academic degree after high school and instead plan on directly entering the workforce and/or also pursuing some type of 2 year Associates degree or certification related to their career interests.

    SLE Program Guidelines:

    • Students must apply - Application on school wires
    • Seniors ONLY!
    • Students must be at least 17 years old.
    • Students must have a valid Driver's License + reliable transportation.
    • The SLE must be a PAID position at a place of employment approved by the SLE coordinator.
    • Required # of documented hours to received credit:
      • minimum 135 hours (each semester) = 5 credits (each semester)
        • = FULL YEAR: 270 hours and 10 credits
    • Students will meet at the beginning of Block 3 (A lunch) from approx. 10:57-11:27, then be dismissed and available for employment.
