As we approach the beginning of a new school year, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you. For many, it is a greeting extended to friends, to others, it is an introduction and an invitation. To all, it constitutes a pledge of continued efforts to provide the best possible education for all of our students.

John F. Kennedy Memorial High School is one of the Best in the State of New Jersey, as we have some of the highest testing scores ever at Kennedy. Our HSPA and SAT scores are ranked among the best in Middlesex County, we have outstanding AP scores, and 47% of our student body is on the Academic Honor Roll.

Over the years, the spirit and tradition at our school has played a key role in changing the educational experience. Ours has been a tradition of student commitment to the proposition that the privilege of coming to school carries with it the obligation to do one’s best. These are important years, and it is reassuring to work with young people who challenge their potential to become the best they can.

Our theme for the 2004-2005 school year will be “Expect Only Excellence.” You have heard me say, “We are the Best!” I am asking that you will once again join with me and make this coming school year the Best yet. Successful growth can only occur with the wholehearted cooperation of the students, parents/guardians, and school. We, therefore, ask you and your child to join us in making the 2004-2005 school year a successful one.

Our goals at Kennedy this year will be:

  • Establishing a safe and open climate for learning
  • Improve test scores (HSPA – “S” – SAT – AP)
  • "Expect Only Excellence"
  • Strive for excellence in the three A’s: Academics, Athletics, and the Arts

Lastly, we would like to leave you with this quote as we begin the school year:

“ Decide carefully, exactly what you want in life; then work like mad to make sure you get it!”

At Kennedy, the Pride is Back!
