At Lafayette Estates Elementary School dedicated educators aspire to inspire our students by establishing a child-centered environment focused on learning. It is our priority that every student is actively engaged, thereby viewing the learning process as a source of discovery and inspiration. Beginning in kindergarten, a unified and challenging curriculum aims to develop an educational foundation as well as the thinking and study skills necessary for our students to be confident in their ability to achieve their goals.
Dedicated teachers engage the community to develop each child’s academic, social, emotional and physical aptitude. To ensure the implementation and integration of best practices teachers continually engage in professional development activities.
A student population of over 500 in kindergarten through grade five participates in a plethora of activities and programs geared at guaranteeing academic success. An integrated curriculum provides researched based programs to accelerate student achievement, close the achievement gap and provide remediation, when necessary. We also focus on cultivating student’s artistic abilities through the inclusion of visual art, musical instruction and vocal instruction.
Students take pride in this positive and nurturing environment that enables them to become life-long learners. And while student success is measured by the NJ ASK, a statewide assessment, it is also measured in the active imaginations and appetites for learning of our students.
Students are introduced to a technology infused curriculum as the building’s physical plant encompasses wireless capabilities. Classrooms are outfitted with whiteboards, computer carts and additional interactive teaching technologies. Teachers are kept abreast of the changes in educational technology through district- wide technology academies.
While our staff outreach is beyond reproach an active and supportive Parent Teacher Organization is applauded for their tireless effort in ensuring parent involvement, managing volunteers, providing financial support, and organizing activities.
The Lafayette community continually give backs as our student participate in service learning projects such as the food drive, holiday cards for soldiers and well wishes for veterans.
For these reasons Lafayette students take pride in the positive and nurturing environment they know a school #25.
Go Lions!
