New Weight Room

The newest edition to Woodbridge High School is the newly updated weight room. The weight room is used for
physical education classes as well as sport team workouts and just a place for kids to work out after school.
The weight room was donated to our school by Richie Sambora.

A special thanks goes out to Jeff Collins of Collins International
for supplying the equipment and designing the weight room.

Athletic Eligibility

1. Commencing the end of the 1988-1989 school year, all students above the 9th grade must pass 30 credits at the conclusion of the school year in order to be eligible for fall and winter athletics. Courses successfully made up during summer school programs can be applied to satisfy this requirement, however, in order to make up courses to be eligible, a student must have earned a minimum of 20 credits at the conclusion of the school year.

2. A student must be passing courses earning the equivalent of 30 credits at the conclusion of the 2nd marking period in order to be eligible for spring athletic programs. Passing is the defined at the attainment of an average of "D" or higher in each of the courses which count towards the accumulative total of 30 credits. In situations whereby a student has a "D" or an "F" in a course at the conclusion of the 2nd marking period the head coach and guidance counselor will obtain a progress report from teacher on February 28th. If the progress report indicates that the student is doing failing work, this is will considered a failure for purposes of determining eligibility for Spring athletic programs.

3. Loss of credits due to excessive absences will affect eligibility as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 above.

4. A student remains eligible for the entire season of any sport regardless of his/her grades at the end of the marking period.

5. At the start of any designated sports season, the Athletic Director, in consultation with Guidance Councilors, will conduct a review of the scholastic records of each candidate to determine his/her eligibility in accordance with the requirements set forth in paragraphs 1 and 2 above.

6. The same eligibility requirements will apply to all students who transfer into a Woodbridge Township School District High School. A review of the transfer students academic records will be conducted by the head coach/advisor to determine if all eligibility requirements are met.

7. Students who accelerate their academic programs during the 1st three years of secondary school and who have passed fewer than 30 credits during the 2nd semester, provided they are meeting the districts graduation requirements.

8. All students will be informed of the Academic eligibility requirements for participation in co-curricular programs at the beginning of each school year.
