LYNN CREST PTO BULLETIN – February 2008
February 4th – Kid Stuff Books are due back!
February 4th--25th –“Pennies for Patients” – Bring in your pennies to help kids with Cancer. Large pennies will also be sold for $1.00. The two top classes will win a Pizza and Ice Cream Party courtesy of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
 
February 4th, 11th, 25th - PALS (PARENTS ACTIVE IN LITERACY SUPPORT). This is a program where Teachers, Parents and children meet for 7 sessions. During these sessions children and parents will visit three different learning stations. Teachers will model literacy activities and behaviors while parents practice with their children. At-home practice sheets will provide follow-up for participants. Advance sign up is required. Forms have already been sent home.
February 5th – Presidential Primary Election. Voting hours are 2pm to 9 pm. In the All Purpose Room.
February 6th – Family Math.  This is a four week program for Third Grade Students. All participants must have signed up in advance.  
February 7th, 21st - Family Writing.  This is a program in which each child and parent will have the opportunity to write a book and have it published!  Must sign up in advance. A sign up sheet will be sent home.
February 12th- PTO Meeting. - In the All Purpose Room at 7pm.
February 12th- Report cards to go home today.
February 13th & 14th--Kindergarten Registration. Registration for September 2008 kindergarten class will take place between the hours of 9:30 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 3:00pm. In order for your child to be enrolled in kindergarten for September 2008 the following documents are required Proof of residency, current utility bill (gas, electric phone or water bill) original birth certificate or passport and immunization records. In order to avoid any congestion during registration, parents are requested to register children whose last names begin with letters A to K on Wed Feb.13th and all other children on Thurs  February 14th  If you are unable to register your child at these times, please call the school and make alternate arrangements.
 
February 14th – Happy Valentines Day!
February 15th & 18th – No School - Presidents Day.
February 19th –Winter Fest. Come and Celebrate Winter. There will be crafts, photos with Frosty, Hot cocoa and lots of fun for everyone.
February 22nd – School Spirit Day!   Show your Tiger Pride!  Wear your Lynn Crest apparel.
February 25th – Pennies for Patients ends.
February 26th – Fun Food Day! - Notice will be sent home.
February 27th - Market Day Pick Up.  If you ordered Market Day for February, this is your pick up day between 4:30pm and 6pm. If you would like to volunteer to help, please be in the All Purpose Room after school on this date. All help is welcome and greatly appreciated.
February 28th – Snack Day. Notice will be sent home with the chosen snack shortly.
Reminder—Please remember to send back your computers for Education booklets. It’s not too late.
Also we would like to let you know that we have extra Kids Stuff Books, Entertainment Books, (Lynn Crest) Umbrella’s and cookbooks for sale.  Please send in a note in your child’s backpack if you wish to purchase.
